pleasant pastures

Photobucket

A couple of nights ago, my husband, daughter-in-law and I went to look at some facilities being built for the restoration of men with addictions. We are in the process of helping the building committee make some decisions about exterior colors.

On the way out to the main road, we passed a pasture of grazing cattle with new calves. What a simple, simple pleasure it was to stop the car, take a few moments from our busy day and snap some pictures of God's creation.

It was fun to watch the curiosity of the calves and to see how their mamas reacted. You can be sure they raised their heads every now and then to make sure no harm was going to befall those entrusted to their charge.

I was reminded of this verse of scripture:

I have no need of a bull from your stall

or of goats from your pens,

for every animal of the forest is mine,

and the cattle on a thousand hills.
from Psalm 50
