The Lord is the Spirit

Can we defeat our enemy with power or might? While we know that Christ has already ultimately defeated satan and all his cohorts, we must take hold of that victory and it is not by might or by power--it is by God's Spirit.

Scripture says in Zephaniah, "Not by might, not by power, but by my Spirit says the Lord."

I love the scripture in Luke 11--
11 “Which of you fathers, if your son asks for a fish, will give him a snake instead? 12 Or if he asks for an egg, will give him a scorpion? 13 If you then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!”

I want to be full of God's Spirit at all times--full to overflowing!

Why--because just as there are natural laws that govern seedtime and harvest, there are spiritual laws that govern our walk with God--just as gravity is--it is!

When we are filled with God's Spirit and walk by His Spirit and not by our own flesh, then there are fruits that grow and bear witness in our lives.

These fruits are:

love, joy, peace,

patience, goodness, kindness,

faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.

Father, I ask in faith believing today that you will fill me once again with Your precious Holy Spirit.
