WOYWW-Acrylic Calf in Progress

I started this little guy week before last.

And I got impatient and just had to see what he was going to look like on the wall.

But I promise you he is going back to my work desk.  I've got to rework his nose and mouth and finish his eyes.

But I have to say, I've already fallen in love with the little guy and can't wait to get him finished and give him a good home there on the breakfast room wall.

For every animal of the forest is mine,
and the cattle on a thousand hills. Psalm 50:10

Elizabeth, spelled stuff wrong in that last comment--See why I said you and I seem to be on the same wave lengths lately--love your ceramic cow head--!

I love your little guy, Dianne. We had the sweetest cows on our farm when I was a little girl growing up. I used to stand beside Daddy and watch as he milked our girls before he went off to work. And when the calves were born it was so exciting to our family. I have always been in love with cow pictures. I think you might have a buyer in Kim!
Love you, sweet friend.

I love that you grew up like that--my grandmother had chickens, pigs and a few cows--and I lived across the road from her until I was about six so I got to experience a little bit of that life--so fun for a child. Glad you like him, Sandy. Love you.

Living in Wisconsin, The Dairy State, you just know I have to love this!

You have such an incredible talent. Those of you with this talent have no idea how those of us whose idea of art is decoupage or stencil admire it.

Dianne said…
Thanks, Anita--beautiful state you live in and I certainly appreciate the dairy industry!
Dianne said…
Thanks, Debbie--since I don't think I am that great, I probably don't appreciate it as much as I should--I will choose to be more thankful for this talent today!

Dianne,
Just love this. And what a great idea to put it up and look at it for a while - then you can see what needs to be done. I am going to do that. And I love your Scripture with it.
Please consider linking to Sunday Stillness if you haven't done so already.
Blessings,
Janis

Oh, he's so sweet. I can just picture sitting there with my brekkie and him looking down in his calm, serene, cud-munching sort of way. Very peaceful :-)

I love him! He looks finished to me, he looks so great in the wall too. I love the loose colorful, modern take on a traditional subject.

Inspiration--I've just seen a lot of cow decorations on Home Interior blogs--and needed a new piece for my breakfast nook and wanted a cow--he turned out to be a calf though and I am liking the guy.

Hi Dianne,

Your little calf is perfect just where he is. He suits the room with his adorable look as if he's saying "Here's looking at you Kid", I really don't know why I said it but it came to mind, maybe his age??? Anyway, he is simply a gorgeous beautiful creature! Enjoy him ; )
