The copy of Gone With the Wind is a 1938 edition that my mother-n-law gave my father-in-law.

Ssummertime and the living is easy--fish are jumpin' and the cotton is high--your daddy's rich and your ma is good looking', so hush little baby--don't you cry.

One of my favorite books and one of my favorite plants--lavender.

I didn't realize until after the photos were shot that when I tied the string I got two loops on one side making it resemble a heart.

Glory in the Heavens

What an awesome God we serve. We have only to look at His incredible handiwork to catch a glimpse of how unfathomable He really is.

I am meditating on this scripture today--turning my eyes to the heavens to increase my faith.

Hoping your week draws you closer to Him--the great God of the Universe--His Universe!

Shout for Joy!

This is the verse I am especially meditating on today.  To me joy is not necessarily giddiness or even happiness--it is a deep, abiding peace that only comes from living in His strength.

Hoping your weekend is filled with joy and strength.

Shout for joy to God all the earth.  Psalm 66:1

Glorify the Lord With Me!

The verse I chose to meditate on today is from Psalms 34:3.  Out of five chapters read, it was hard to choose one verse.

On a quick little stroll through my front yard this morning, these little yellow daisies 

seemed to be saying just that to me.

At first, I thought these might be buttercups but after researching on the internet, 

I am almost positive they are some type of daisy.  If not, would you please 

let me know in the comments below.

Beholding His Power and Glory

Iread a post today that really touched my heart. The gist of it was this: The one who posted had once been an avid reader of God's Word but for reasons that weren't stated explicitly, the scriptures had grown cold and empty to her.

There are many things that happen to us as Christians to discourage us--to send us into a downhill slide that gathers speed as we pass up reading God's Word one day, then two, then the days seem to multiply between readings.

I wanted to take this opportunity to encourage you if you are going through a time like this.  We rob ourselves of so much beauty, wisdom, strength and knowledge when we neglect to spend time in God's Word.

No matter what else I am reading or studying there is one sure fire method that has worked for me over the years, especially if I am going through a time of deep drought in my spiritual walk and find it hard to discipline myself--most of the time I love reading scripture but during the hard times, this is a wonderful kick starter.

On the first day of the month read Psalm 1, 31, 61, 91, 121 On the second day of the month read Psalm 2, 32, 62, 92, 122  On the third day of the month read Psalm 3, 33, 63, 93, 123 So you see the pattern--just choose the day of the month it is and start on that chapter,  add 30 each time until you run out of chapters.   You will read 5 chapters each day and many of them are short. One thing I like to do to really keep me on track is go to Bible Gateway and  listen to it as I am reading it. The longest is Psalm 119 and it takes about 15 minutes to listen and read it  if you are using the Gateway audio. If you look at the picture I posted above, you see that I was reading in the 63 chapter.  That was one of my chapters today and this scripture really stood out to me.   I try to always choose one scripture that I meditate on all day long and it is really hard  some days to choose because there are so many awesome ones.
