Monet's Inspiration

Photograph was edited with two layers of Kim Klassen's 1301--one at 12% opacity and one at 33%.
Font used is "Sunshine In My Soul."

I walked out in my backyard the other day and this was what was blooming.  I am not sure what the simple flower is--maybe kind of daffodil or jonquil.

I am guessing that the other is some form of ruffled daffodil.

I love painting and photographing flowers.

Fear Not!

I painted this little picture a few days ago on my IPad.  I used Martha Lever's "Pretty flowers in a jar" as my inspiration piece.  Here is a link to it.  I know you will love Martha's art blog.

Hope your week is off to a wonderful start.  We are in northern Arkansas (in the mountains) with the guys from Renewal Ranch all this week--a service project--we did the same thing last year and had an awesome time.

The internet service is spotty at best.  I spent almost an hour trying to get a post up this morning and finally gave up.  Decided to try again and it is working a little bit better now.

I finally bought a stylus to work with on the IPad and think I am going to really like it.  I sat on the Town Square in Mountain View and painted for a while today--just getting used to it.

Hope your week is incredibly blessed.  Don't forget that you are a uniquely, wonderful human being fashioned in the image of God for good works and to glorify Him.  He has gifted all of us with remarkable abilities and talents.  Let's use them for His glory this week.  I love you all.

You came near when I called you, and you said, “Do not fear.”

Still Looking Back

'Every Easter Sunday my family joined a longstanding custom of the community.
In order that everyone feel welcome to come and celebrate the resurrection of our Lord, my mom and I wore flour-sack dresses to church as did all the other women and girls.
The men and boys donned their everyday overalls. There were no excuses for not having anything new to wear on Easter Sunday morning on those pastel, early spring days in Arkansas."
---------this is a portion of a story I wrote about my youth--Arkansas' Child--------

Still looking back at Easter Sunday and many Easter Sundays of the past.

This is a painting of one of the churches I attended in my youth.

Many precious memories made there.

I learned how to love in that church.

My heart will be forever grateful for the people who crossed my path there.

Prayer-The Music of My Heart

Today's post is taken from yesterday's prayer for the precious ones in my life. I record these prayers under the "Pray With Me" section on the sidebar.

I love to pray scripture over them.

When you can, I would love for you to join me in prayer.  It is our greatest resource.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
You, God, are my God,
    earnestly I seek you;
I thirst for you,
    my whole being longs for you,
in a dry and parched land
    where there is no water.
Psalm 63:1
Father, I love you.  I give you praise.
It is for the precious ones that I meet with You here and ask You to bless them.
I pray that the scripture above will be their earnest prayer--
that they will recognize that You are their God--
that they will seek You with all their hearts--
That they will thirst for You and long for You
in a deep and holy way.
Father, would You saturate their dryness with Your precious Holy Spirit?
Would you be an oasis, a deep well, a river of living water that will
spring up from within them and minister to them all the days of their lives.
Father, how I thank You for the gift of prayer--
especially that of praying scripture.
My heart beats hard, Father, when I pray scripture,
because I know that You are touched by Your Word
and also touched by my infirmities.
You will respond to Your Word and I am confident when I pray
Your Word that You will bring things to pass--
You will open doors that have been seemingly sealed shut,
You will make a way where huge obstacles block the path,
You will bring light in extreme darkness.
Father, I love the word extreme--
Because that is what You are to me.
Extreme in Your love,
Extreme in Your faithfulness,
Extreme in Your holiness,
Extreme in Your grace and mercy--
Extreme in Your Extremeness.
Forever to worship You.
That is the extreme ultimate.
I pray in Jesus' Name.  Amen
Her Story Because of His Story
Many years have passed since that day.
Today marks the anniversary of the first day of the week when I went with spices to anoint the body of my Savior and Lord, the One who had understood my desperation and rid me of seven demons.
 How could I ever repay Him for the new life He brought to me.
 The least I could do was anoint His body with spices and myrrh--
--the aroma of life He had given to me.
But when I arrived at the sepulcher, He was not there.
The tomb was my heart--once so full of darkness and death--
-- now flooded with light.
The stone was my sin-- Heavy and impossible for me to move--
 Now rolled away just as my sin had been.
The soiled linens were the remembrances of past failures--  Now laid aside--
Never to bind again--
Why seek ye the living among the dead?
--my doubts personified--
And then the voice--"Mary"--
My faith magnified!
His physical appearance I did not recognize--
Upon hearing the voice of tenderness, love and strength
there arose an undeniable quickening in my spirit--
My Savior glorified!
From His Pages
I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in his holy people, and his incomparably great power for us who believe.
That power is the same as the mighty strength he exerted when he raised Christ from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly realms, far above all rule and authority, power and dominion, and every name that is invoked, not only in the present age but also in the one to come.  Eph. 1:18-21
