Pray for the Peace of Jerusalem

Wednesdays here on the blog are dedicated to prayer for Jerusalem.

 Father, We come before you today to ask your blessings on Jerusalem and all of Israel.

We pray that in the days ahead you will burden our hearts more and more for Israel and teach us how to pray.

In your Word we are told to pray for the peace of Israel and we know that you are peace--the only true peace comes from you-- We pray that you would protect Israel from those who would want to destroy her, who would want this country wiped from the face of the map.

When her enemies stretch forth their bows, may their arrows fall short--

And not only that, Lord, but that her enemies would have miraculous encounters with you--we pray that You would make Yourself real to them in visions and dreams, in encounters that we cannot even imagine.

Let your blessings flow unbounded--may many come to know You, even today.

Thank you so much for the readers of this blog from that part of the world.

Be gracious and compassionate towards them, Lord, and enrich their lives abundantly.

Thank you for the power of prayer.

All things we ask in the name of Jesus, Amen

Pray for the Generations

It's late but it is still Monday and we don't want to let the day go by without bringing our precious ones before the Lord in prayer.

Where can I go from your Spirit?
    Where can I flee from your presence?

If I go up to the heavens, you are there;
    if I make my bed in the depths, you are there.
 If I rise on the wings of the dawn,
    if I settle on the far side of the sea,

 even there your hand will guide me,
    your right hand will hold me fast.
 If I say, “Surely the darkness will hide me
    and the light become night around me,”
 even the darkness will not be dark to you;
    the night will shine like the day
    for darkness is as light to you.

Psalm 139:7-12

Oh God, for the beloveds, the precious ones I pray today--

Lord, I pray that your Spirit will go with everyone of them for every day of their lives.  I pray that Your presence would stay close to them--that they would not want to flee from Your presence but will seek You out with all of their hearts for  every day of their lives.

Oh Lord make this passage of scripture real to each one of them.  Show them Your likeness, Your light.

Lord, those ones who are especially hurting today, hold them a little tighter.
Cling a little longer, warm them with Your assurance that they can make it through anything if they will only place their hope, faith and trust in You.

Purify us, Lord--our thoughts, our actions, our motives, our meditations.

Lord, would You be the Lord over all of us and we will praise You forever and ever.  In Jesus' Name we pray.  Amen

Peonies

Peonies are one of my favorite flowers.

I featured one shot of them yesterday but just couldn't get enough of their beauty so thought I would show you the rest of the photos I took.

Hope you enjoy--wishing you a wonderful Tuesday!

Praying for the Generations

On Mondays here on the blog we pray for the generations to come after us.

 But I will call on God, and the Lord will rescue me. Morning, noon, and night I cry out in my distress, and the Lord hears my voice. from Psalm 25

 Heavenly Father,
Here I am again asking, seeking, knocking for my children, my grandchildren, my seed, my descendants, my extended family, the children and grandchildren of my precious friends.

Lord, I pray that each one of them will learn to cry out to you in their good times and bad, in their distress, and as Daniel did--praying to you morning, noon, and night.

Lord, you see the things and people I am burdened for and I pray that You will resolve these situations according to Your perfect will.

You are the only answer, Lord, to our deepest heart's cry--we need You, we cannot survive without You.

 Please send Your Spirit to minister to us, to love, comfort, convince and convict us.

We need You as we have never needed You before. Please make Your presence known to us in a tangible way.

It is my heart's desire that every descendant will make you the Lord and Savior of their lives.

We always pray in the great Name of Jesus Christ, Your Only Begotten Son,
Amen

Pray for the Peace of Jerusalem

Wednesdays here on the blog are our special prayer time for Jerusalem and all of Israel.

We are admonished in scripture to pray in this manner.  We want to be faithful to pray for the "apple of God's eye."

Father God,

We come before You today in obedience to your instructions to us to pray for the peace of Jerusalem.

We pray for all the people who inhabit the land--for their peace, their provision, their salvation.

We pray that You will be honored in the land--that Your Name will be great.

We pray that preparations are being made at this very moment to anoint Jerusalem to receive and bear witness to all the prophecy that You have made over her.

We pray that she will shine for You and that many will come to know You in this remarkable land on which our Savior walked.

We pray that You will protect her from all who would want to wipe her coordinates off the face of the map.

My heart is especially heavy for the lands of Syria and Iraq today, especially for the Christians there who are being persecuted in horrendous ways, even to death.

Father, come to their rescue.  Show us how to pray for them and ways that we can help.

Give us boldness where boldness is needed--

Courage where bravery is scarce--

Humbleness in the face of pride--

Love to love the unloveable--

In the great Name of Jesus we pray,

Amen

Pray for the Generations!

Good day! Or evening or night!

I hope wherever you are that you are walking close with God and enjoying His presence.

On Mondays, here on the blog, we pray especially for our seed, the next generations, and those precious to us.

I pray that you will join me in this prayer or better yet let your own words come from your heart to the heart of God to beseech Him in prayer.

Great is the Lord and most worthy of praise;
    his greatness no one can fathom.

One generation will commend your works to another;
they will tell of your mighty acts.

 They will speak of the glorious splendor of your majesty,
and I will meditate on your wonderful works.

They will tell of the power of your awesome works,
and I will proclaim your great deeds.

They will celebrate your abundant goodness
and joyfully sing of your righteousness.

from Psalm 145

Dear Lord, I pray for the precious ones today--

Oh God that they would be cognizant of Your greatness--

As the scripture above says, we know that we can not begin to fathom the scope and magnitude of Your true greatness but let us become more and more aware of it each day as our minds, souls, hearts and spirits are able to grasp and embrace.

And I pray that all of those you have given me will tell of Your awesome works, Your great deeds, Your mighty acts and recognize the work of Your hand in their lives even today, even right now.

Thank you Father for Your love--that You are loving to all You have made.

Thank you for Jesus and His shed blood that paid for our salvation.  How I thank You Lord for all You are to me--everything!

In Jesus' Name, Amen--

Pray for the Generations

Because His faithfulness endures through all generations, I will continue to ask His blessings and favor upon those who come after me.

"Father God, You have been faithful through all generations--You are mighty and have made Yourself known in many wondrous ways.
Today I pray that You will make Yourself known to my children and grandchildren and all those to come from our seeds--mine and my husband's.

I pray--

*first of all for their salvation--that All would come to know You as precious Savior and Lord.

*that above all, they will seek You for there is no greater joy--in fact, there is no joy apart from You.

*that they will experience You in Your fullness.

*that You will send mentors and good Christian friends into their lives--people they can trust, people who will lead them in Your Way.

*that they will learn to discern spiritual truth and will not be deceived by Satan's many and varied tactics to draw us away from living the abundant life.

*that greed, malice, gossip, strife and contention will be far from their dwelling place.

*that they will be compassionate, loving, gentle, kind, and generous towards their fellow man.

*that they will be burdened more and more to pray for our country, our leaders, and to stand for what is right by speaking the truth in love.

*that each one will have a heart of gratitude and continually count their blessings.

*that they will have a burden for the whole world--that praying for the salvation of each soul in the world would not seem daunting or an arduous task but would fill them with hope and faith.

I pray that you would guide and protect them.

I pray in Jesus' Name.  Amen

Pray for Your Nation

Some time back I started praying for my nation on Fridays.

However, as readership has changed and there are so many from other nations--many days more from other nations than the United States, I want us to focus on our individual countries.  So really the above photo should say--"Pray for Your Nation."

It is amazing how many countries are represented here.

I love that--

So, today, I encourage you to pray for your own nation.

And as I go through the list of nations from which this blog has readership, I will pray for your nation also.

I pray that God, through the person of Jesus Christ, will be honored in your nation and in mine.

Have a blessed weekend and a wonderful Sabbath Day.

Our azaleas are in full bloom and the handiwork of God is something to behold--hoping you enjoy these pictures of them.

Pray for the Peace of Jerusalem

Wednesdays here on the blog we dedicate to praying for the Peace of Jerusalem and all of Israel.  I pray that you will join me in this prayer.

And dear readers I hope you know that when I am praying for Israel, I am also praying for your country.  God is alive and well all over this vast universe and He is more than willing and able to bring peace to your country and to mine.

I live in America and we are experiencing things here that I honestly never thought I would see in my lifetime.

We don't have the overt persecution of beheadings and such, but there is a spirit of hatred towards those who want to follow God's Word and do things His way.

But really we are not to be surprised by this, are we?

The Word of God predicts it!

Father,
We come before you today to ask your blessings on Jerusalem and all of Israel.

We pray that in the days ahead you will burden our hearts more and more for Israel and teach us how to pray.

In your Word we are told to pray for the peace of Jerusalem and we know that You are peace--the only true peace comes from You--

We pray that you would protect Israel from those who would want to destroy her, who would want this country wiped from the face of the map.

When her enemies stretch forth their bows, may their arrows fall short--Psalm 58:7b

And not only that, Lord, but we pray that her enemies would have miraculous encounters with you--we pray that You would make Yourself real to them in visions and dreams, in encounters that we cannot even imagine.

Thank you so much for the readers of this blog from that part of the world. Be gracious and compassionate towards them, Lord, and enrich their lives abundantly with the knowledge of You.

Thank you for the power of prayer.

All things we ask in the name of Jesus,
Amen

What I'm Meditating On Today--

This is the scripture I am meditating on today and it is all about TRUST!

A little side note--

Before Easter I was searching for the perfect Lenten readings to lead me to a meaningful celebration of Easter.

I found some really good ones and shared some of them.

HOWEVER, I didn't find the perfect fit for me until AFTER Easter--

In her book, 40 Days of Decrease, Alicia Britt Chole, leads us so wisely--ON FASTING--she has some wonderful suggestions--

From Day 2--"When fresh beginnings are stalked by the memories of stale endings, a sickly substance can steal our strength: regret. Regret empties anticipation, flattens dreams, and suffocates hope, because regret is a form of self-punishment.. . . . . So for one day (or go for forty), I invite you to fast regret. Do not feed it. Do not give it space. Let it go: God's mercies are 'new every morning' Lam 3:23. And meditate on Jesus' glorious promise from Rev 21:5: 'I am making all things new.'"

Have a glorious Tuesday!

Praying for the Generations

Hello precious friends. It is a beautiful Monday here and I hope it's beautiful wherever you are.

Here on the blog on Mondays we devote ourselves to praying for those who come after us.  What a wonderful privilege it is to pray for them.

I encourage you to pray your own prayer but if you would like, I have provided one for you--

Prayer for April 4, 2016

I will extol the LORD at all times; his praise will always be on my lips
I will glory in the LORD; let the afflicted hear and rejoice. Glorify the LORD with me; let us exalt his name together.

The LORD is close to the brokenhearted
   and saves those who are crushed in spirit.  verses taken from Ps. 34 NIV

Good morning, Lord.

Here I am again asking, seeking, knocking for my children, my grandchildren, my seed, for others on my prayer list.

Lord, you see those I am praying for who are brokenhearted and crushed in spirit.

Only You can soothe the hurt, the heartache, the gut-wrenching pain that racks our minds and souls at times.

Oh, Father, I pray that You would do this for those I am burdened for today.

You know their names before a word is even on my lips.

Through the pain of this experience, I pray that they will learn to trust and extol You more than ever, Father.

Let Your praise be continually on their lips.

Help us to know how to glory in our present circumstances even though they bring us sadness and tears at times.

We know that all things (Romans 8:28) are working for our good when we love You and are called to Your purpose.

Our highest calling in life, O God, is to fulfill Your purpose for our lives.

I don't want me or my seed to have lived in vain.

So I would humbly ask that You show us our purposes for living and help us to live out that high calling even if it looks menial to the world.

Father, I believe from the study of Your Word, that our very highest calling is that of praising and magnifying, honoring and bringing Glory to Your Name.

I ask that You will show us how to magnify You in the highest way, to extol You to a position of praise and honor and glory that would make angels yearn to join us.

I choose the sacrifice of praise today and I extol You, O God.  I extol You with all my heart.

In the Name of Jesus I pray.  Amen

A Post In Remembrance

This post is for all the victims' families and friends. I want each of you to know that there are people who really care --people whose hearts are breaking for what you are going through--people who are praying for you.

We, seemingly, are living in a world gone mad.

Our hearts grieve for the fallen--

For those who were in their prime--

For those of the older generation--

and especially for those who never made it to full bloom--

A single life snatched from a family
changes the course of history forevermore--

Though our words are weak;
We pray that our supplications will be strong--

That the God of all peace will comfort you in His loving arms
and in due time bring you deep and abiding joy--

The joy that only He can bring.

A Spacious Place

Bbecause of His great love for us, He made a way for each of us to be brought into a spacious place. It is a gift from Him. We must choose to accept or reject this gift--the greatest offering in the history of mankind--

I pray today that you will choose to make Jesus Christ the Lord and Savior of your life.

Have a wonderful weekend--Holy Week is coming up--a few more days to prepare our hearts for the meeting of all meetings--where the greatest cataclysmic (cataclysmic for SIN) event of all time took place and created that spacious place for us--judgement met love and Love won!

Spiritual DNA

What does it mean to 'bear witness?'

The online Free Dictionary says this:

Verb1.bear witness - provide evidence for; "The blood test showed that he was the father"

This really made me start thinking!

If there were such a thing and I were to have it--a Spiritual DNA test, what would it show?  Would it prove that God is truly my Father?  That I have come to Him through belief in His only Son, Jesus Christ.

From John 14:6:  Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.

God made sure that John would know who Jesus Christ was--He spoke to John and told him that the Holy Spirt in the form of a dove would alight on the one who baptizes with the Holy Spirit.

from John 1

The next day he saw Jesus coming toward him, and said, “Behold, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!
This is he of whom I said, ‘After me comes a man who ranks before me, because he was before me.’
I myself did not know him, but for this purpose I came baptizing with water, that he might be revealed to Israel.”
          And John bore witness: “I saw the Spirit descend from heaven like a dove, and it      remained on him.
I myself did not know him, but he who sent me to baptize with water said to me, ‘He on whom you see the Spirit descend and remain, this is he who baptizes with the Holy Spirit.’
 And I have seen and have borne witness that this is the Son of God.”

Who does your heart tell you that Jesus is?

That is what Jesus wants to know.

Who do you say that He is?
"But what about you?" he asked. "Who do you say I am?" Peter answered, "You are the Messiah."  Mark 8:29

If you have one grain of faith that is enough and God gives us even that!

Choose to use that one mustard see of faith today and tell Jesus, like Peter did, that He is the Messiah.

I may not be able to prove my identity through a Spiritual DNA test but the whole world will see and know who I am on that day when He says--

Well done my good and faithful servant.

God will say this to me because I believe and because He sees me through Jesus--

Not because of my own integrity--

I choose the sinless blood of Jesus to cover me--

His Spiritual DNA shows only the markers of God Himself!

And because of that, my Spiritual DNA is perfect!

Worship Is Not A Place But A Person

My precious, unsophisticated (by society's standards) mom got on a plane one time in her lifetime and flew to Israel.

There, with likeminded friends, she got to experience the places where her master had walked during His earthly life.

Hearing her tell about it and watching her expressions made me want to visit there also.

I have never made it to Israel and doubt that I will get to since international traveling has become difficult for me--BUT,

this I know--

Worship is not about a place but a person--

This quote is taken from today's Lenten reading at Redeemer.com--

"When the temple curtain split at the death of Christ (Mark 15:38), the barrier between God and humanity came down for everyone. Jesus became the “house of prayer for all nations.” Today there is no need to travel to the temple in Jerusalem to worship. Nor is there any distinction between Jewish and Gentile worshippers. Worship is no longer attached to a place, but a person. Jesus is the temple. He is where we meet God."

Jesus is the temple.

He is where we meet God.

This is not to say that we shouldn't go to Jerusalem to experience what my mom did--but only to say that we can experience all of that and more right where we are!

Sitting right here on the left hand side of my sofa in my living room, I meet with the Master of the Universe, I experience his presence and bask in His love.

I pray today that you, too, meet with God through our savior and Lord, Jesus Christ.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
And a gentle reminder, Wednesdays are when we pray especially for the peace of Jerusalem!
Father,
We come before you today to ask your blessings on Jerusalem and all of Israel.
We pray that in the days ahead you will burden our hearts more and more for Israel and teach us how to pray.
